There's not really anything here yet :)

Hints

  • Search online for user groups for your printer, that helps a ton.
  • Also search for common printing problems. Lots of sites have info on how to dial in temps, etc, for whatever filament you have.
  • Try to find a "good" filament that you can get a reliable source for at a price you can live with. Then "dial that in" and remember the settings. The biggest trick is finding a repeatable process that works for you. Once you have such, remember it!
  • Cheap filaments can print well, but may need different settings (or you may have a crappy supplier).
  • Simplify 3D seems to be a pretty good slicer, lots of people think it's worth the money. Its not perfect, but might be worth considering.
  • Microsoft 3D Builder does a decent job of repairing STLs and has tools to chop models in half. I find that helpful because I'm 3D modeling program impaired.
